The CLAS tachometer works as follows: - optical method: it concentrates a beam of light on a reflective strip attached to a rotary object. The beam is then reflected each time the strip passes, which is quickly translated into rotation speed. The distance between the device and the reflective strip can reach 600mm. - mechanical method: it uses a contact probe, directly attached to the axis of rotation. A measuring wheel is placed on the adapter to measure either speed or length. |
